We aim to be experts at what we do and that means keeping tabs on what’s going on in the world of work psychology. That’s how we got together with Dr Nigel Guenole of the Occupational Psychology Group at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Dr Guenole is a leading expert in the measurement of high performance behaviour and 360 degree feedback. We are delighted to be able to provide the online infrastructure to a new research project led by Dr Guenole that will study the effects of social feedback on leadership development.
We already know that when those around us are giving us feedback, we perform better at work, have stronger relationships and make more of learning opportunities. The new study will explore in depth the effect on leadership performance of different types of social feedback using various social media-type platforms.
Social media is increasingly important in all aspects of life and its effects on all aspects of life is a hot topic. And that’s why it’s so important to business and the workplace.
The Goldsmiths team expects that better feedback conversations, prompted by social feedback, will make it easier and more normal for people to have productive conversations about their behaviour at work. They anticipate that this will lead to enhanced levels of leadership development.
